- A student recently approached me and asked if I had ever read Khotbeh Ghadir in its entirety, and I said I hadn't. Here's the pdf file of a book that talks about the event, and presents the complete khotbeh both in Farsi and Arabic: ghadir.pdf (taken from xxxxx).
- An interesting documentary on Saddam and the West (we knew it all along, didn't we?)
Tourist Info/Culture
I was born in Tehran, Iran (for tourist info, check out irpedia.com or Iran Zamin. For general info, check out Persia.org). I especially love Isfahan, where I was finally drawn to for my sabbatical. Isfahan was the capital of Iran during the Safavid dynasty (~1500 - 1700).
Education
I studied Computer Science at Sharif University of Technology as an undergrad. Then I attended Northwestern University and received my Master's and PhD in Computer Engineering, and went on to become an Assistant Professor at the University of Minnesota. I became an Associate Prof in 2005, and now I am spending my Sabbatical year in Iran.
